III. Process Parameters


TPE temperature: Too high a temperature can easily decompose the TPE, resulting in good flowability but potentially dimensional instability. Too low a temperature can lead to poor flowability, making it difficult to fill the mold cavity and even failing to effectively cover the substrate. Experimentation is required to find the optimal balance based on the TPE's characteristics and product structure. Injection Pressure and Speed: Ensure that the TPE fills the mold cavity with sufficient pressure and an appropriate speed. Avoid excessive pressure, which could cause substrate deformation or TPE flash, and insufficient pressure and slow speed, which could cause incomplete filling or a weak bond.


Dwelling Pressure and Cooling Time: The holding time should be sufficient to allow the TPE to establish a stable bond with the substrate, while the cooling time should ensure that the product is fully cured and set to avoid deformation during demolding.


IV. Substrate Preparation


Cleanliness: The substrate surface must be thoroughly clean, free of contaminants such as oil, dust, and moisture, as these impurities are key obstacles to adhesion.


Surface Activation: Sometimes, if the substrate surface is too smooth, it may be necessary to roughen it through light sandblasting, apply a specialized primer to chemically enhance the interfacial adhesion, or even employ advanced methods such as plasma treatment to achieve stronger mechanical and chemical bonding.


V. Production Stability


In addition to the above points, stability in the production process is also crucial. Variations in TPE material batches, changes in ambient humidity, and fluctuations in injection molding machine performance can all affect the final product. Establishing a rigorous quality control process and regularly inspecting equipment and materials are crucial to ensuring long-term stable production and consistently producing quality products.
